PATTERN: Sabrina Spellman doll from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix series)

I know I haven't been here for quite a long time. In fact, it was over a year since I released any free pattern. I wanted to change it and make something new.
As I've watched the first season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I thought it might be a good idea to give something to her fandom :)
Here's an easy pattern to make your own tiny Sabrina.
If you're interested in more, keep an eye on my INSTAGRAM and ETSY.

SABRINA SPELLMAN PATTERN:

What you'll need:
  • yarn in dark brown, black, red and cream. (I used Madame Tricote Dora)
  • a crochet hook (I used a 2.5mm one)
  • toy stuffing (poly-fil)
  • safety eyes (I used black 0.8mm ones)
  • black felt
  • blonde-colored felting wool

Starting with LEGS:
- with brown yarn:
1. mr, 5 sc in ring (5)
2. *sc, inc* around (7)
- change to black:
3. - 8. sc around (7)
Stuff the leg.
Cut off yarn and fasten off on the first leg. When you finish the second leg, do not cut off yarn.
Make second leg.
Connect the legs with a single stitch.
Now, make a round of sc on BOTH legs. You should have 14 scs then. Stuff the legs and continue.

Continue with the BODY:
1. sc around (14)
2. dec, 5 sc, dec, 5 sc (12)
3. - 5. sc around (12)
- stuff the body
6. dec, 4 sc, dec, 4 sc (10)
7. dec, 3 sc, dec, 3 sc (8)
- end with a sl st, cut off yarn.
Sew the head to the body, or do it after making the skirt, if you prefer.

Now make the HEAD:
- with cream yarn
1. mr, 6 sc in ring (6)
2. inc around (12)
3. *sc, inc* around (18)
4. *2 sc, inc* around (24)
5. *3 sc, inc* around (30)
6.- 10. sc around (30)
11. *3 sc, dec* around (24)
12. * 2 sc, dec* around (18)
- insert eyes between rounds 8 and 9. I usually put them 7-8 stitches apart. Stuff the
head lightly.
13. *sc, dec* around (12)
- stuff more
14. 4 dec (8)
- cut off yarn. Fasten off, and leave enough yarn for sewing.
Sew the head to the body now.

Time for the SKIRT:
- insert hook in the back of Sabrina's body, in the 1st round after connecting legs.
- with black yarn
1. Make a round of sc around her body (14)
2. sc around (14)
3. inc, 13 sc (15)
4. inc, 14 sc (16)
- Finish with a slip stitch. Fasten off, cut off yarn, weave in end.

Now, it's time for the COAT:
- with red yarn
1. ch13, turn, 12 sc starting from second ch from hook.
2. ch 1, turn, 6 sc, inc, 5 sc (13)
3. ch 1, turn, 6 sc, inc, 6 sc (14)
4. ch 1, turn, 7 sc, inc, 6 sc (15)
5. ch 1, turn, 7 sc, inc, 7 sc (16)
6. ch 1, turn, 8 sc, inc, 8 sc (17)
7. ch 1, turn, 9 sc, inc, 8 sc (18)
8. ch 1, turn, 9 sc, inc, 9 sc (19)
9. ch 1, turn, 10 sc, inc, 9 sc (20)
10. ch 1, turn, 10 sc, inc, 10 sc (21)
11. ch 1, turn, 11 sc, inc, 10 sc (22)

- fasten off, cut off yarn, weave in the ends. The coat should look like this now:

Now, make the flaps on the coat.
Insert your hook on the top edge of the coat on one side like this:

1. Ch 2, make 2 dc in the same stitch.
Cut off yarn leaving enough tail for sewing, fasten off. Then, bend the flap to the other side and sew it with the rest of the yarn left.
Do the same on the other side.

Now, sew the coat to the body.

 Make the ARMS:
- With cream colored yarn
1. mr, 6 sc in ring (6)
2. sc around (6)
- change to red
3. - 9. sc around (6)
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. Make the second arm and sew them to the body.

Time for my favourite part of decorating - the HAIR!
To make Sabrina's hair you can use felting wool, like I did, or just sew multiple strands of blonde colored yarn to the head. You can use whatever method you like, but here's a short tutorial on how I made mine:
Take some wool (the kind meant for needle felting, preferably merino):

Cut enough to make Sabrina's hairstyle:

Place it on Sabrina's head and with a felting needle secure it on the head by repeatedly inserting the needle in the middle of the head. Secure it all the way down to the back of her head. Cut the hair to the desired lenght.

Then, cut a strip of black felt or fabric and glue it on her head as her headband.

Here, you're finished! You now have your own, tiny Sabrina Spellman!

Feel free to share the pattern with others by sending them the link, just do not copy and paste the pattern itself, please. You can sell finished dolls in limited quantity, but please credit me as the pattern designer if you do sell online :)

I may post some more patterns later this month - I've been working on some TV series characters, like Dean Winchester from Supernatural and Eleven from Stranger Things. Keep an eye for those patterns soon!

Have a witchy (and crafty... witchcrafty?) week!
